At MEVO, sustainability is at the heart of our corporate philosophy. As the leading manufacturer of wire hangers in Europe, we rely on environmentally friendly production processes and innovative solutions to minimize our ecological footprint while ensuring the highest quality.
100% Made in Vorarlberg - short distances, low CO2 footprint
Our production takes place 100% in Vorarlberg, which means we avoid long transportation routes and ensure a low CO2 footprint. The entire production process – from the wire rod to the finished wire hanger – is designed for regional resources and efficiency. By working closely with Loacker Recycling, we focus on sustainable raw material management. The steel is transported by rail via ÖBB to our plant in Italy, where it is recycled and then returned by rail to Lustenau and Schwarzenberg for further processing.
Use of recycled materials
We only use 100% recycled steel for our wire coat hangers, which meets the highest quality standards. We also use recycled paper and cardboard for packaging. In this way, we not only ensure resource-saving products, but also sustainable and environmentally friendly logistics.
Waste management and innovation
We also rely on future-oriented solutions for disposal. Grinding and cleaning the raw material produces by-products such as iron dust, which is safely collected and removed in an innovative disposal process by Loacker Recycling. Paper waste and plastic film are also recycled by our partners in order to minimize waste.
Photovoltaics and energy efficiency
Our production facilities are equipped with photovoltaic systems that cover part of our energy requirements. On sunny days, the electricity produced is even enough to cover our daily consumption.
